    Bernheim Wheat 7 y/o

In the midst of a Twitter exchange with Bernie Lubbers to confirm the identity of the new PHC, he also dropped this welcome little nugget of good news

So it appears Bernheim will be moving from an NAS to a 7 y/o age stated whiskey. God bless Heaven Hill for bucking the unfortunate NAS trend.

If it is not selling that well I suppose they could have a "glut" of it...

It will sell quickly based on the success if it's elders.

We have exactly 1 customer that regularly buys bernheim. Just one.
So maybe a PHC Bernheim would help inspire better sales of the soon to be 7yo regular Bernheim!

Very glad to see this, I recall this being a very delicate drink so fully aging should help bolster the flavor. I would love to do a side-by-side with the bottle of the initial release I have bunkered and a new age-stated bottle, if only this was available here.

I'm a fan of the current release so I'm thrilled to try the whiskey with more age on it.

    Thanks, HH!

The NAS stuff is good enough straight. The 7yr may indeed have enough extra barrel influence that will contribute more flavor.

Cool news. I like the PHC progression. It may be a little slow. But then again, it should be slow, good things come to those who wait. I'm happy waiting for the barrels to come of age.

They're not really bucking the trend but I still like what they're doing. The trend is to reserve age statements for the more premium products, which this certainly is. I'm glad they're doing it, especially glad to see them converting an NAS into an age-stated product. I salute them for fine-tuning a good product, including cutting the price at a time when most were going up, to introduce it to a wider and wider audience. And I salute them for having the guts to create a new category. Although straight wheat has always been on the books, no one (large or small) was making it until they did, and it's a fine product.
