Re: What beer are you drinking, Spring 14?

    Looking good, Sean!

Tried a new beer with dinner tonight called Red Jacket Amber Ale. It's from the Keweenaw Brewing Company out of Houghton, Michigan. I didn't know quite what to expect, but thought it was decent. Not sure I'd seek it out again, but wouldn't hesitate to grab it off the shelf.

Having an Oskar Blues Deviant Dale's tonight. Lots of sweetness to balance out the hop attack. Would drink again.

Some of the new batch of Bo and Luke from ATG. This is what this beer is about. Smoke is present but not dominant, bourbon sweetness with a touch of smoke.

Tried a crooked stave st bretta winter earlier. A dark wild ale with citrus is the definition. In reality it tastes like a lemon fucked a vat of yeast and citric acid and it shit this out. Might be the most sour beer I have ever had.

Bo and Luke is great stuff. I'm grateful to Sean for the chance to try the last batch.

And those are about the best tasting notes ever.

Sean, how is the Country Western? I picked up a few and gave 2 of them to Shawn, but I didn't crack one yet.

Re: What beer are you drinking, Spring 14?

The beer place up the street from me had a Founders tapping last night, so I got a chance to try the Boyl'r Mayk'r. English-style pale ale aged in bourbon barrels. It was delicious. Nice barrel influence, well balanced. I wish that it was part of their regular line up!

Also tried the New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve, which is the Dragon's Milk aged with chilies. That was interesting. Definitely some chili burn, and I woke up in the middle of the night with some serious heartburn. Not sure I'll get that one again, but glad I tried it.

Good nose and flavor. Wish it had more body for a barrel aged Impy.
