Had some FFF Permanent Funeral last night. Freshly tapped and simply awesome. I'm guessing it won't last long.

Today I had a Double Crooked Tree very good DIPA with a hint of sweetness in the finish.

A week ago at the Witches Hat my first time there a brewpub in South Lyon., I had their Demon Cleaner a Triple Belgium style and Big Doedish a DIPA. Both excellent. To the SEMI guys I'd highly recommend them. No food but you can carry in I'm told.

Also tried the New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve, which is the Dragon's Milk aged with chilies. That was interesting. Definitely some chili burn, and I woke up in the middle of the night with some serious heartburn. Not sure I'll get that one again, but glad I tried it.
I'm happy to read your comment about Boylrmaykr. Founder's has had that on tap off and on for the last 6 months as a Class 3 beer. I interpreted the on again, off again to mean that it wasn't selling. This thought was supported when they recently made this a Class 2 beer. This important for two reasons - Class 2 is cheaper than Class 3 and they don't fill growlers with Class 3 beers. Your comment is all the encouragement I need to get me a growler fill.

I stayed away from the Dragon's Milk chile variant. I'm really looking forward to their raspberry variant when they release it in the fall.

Re: What beer are you drinking, Spring 14?

I'm drinking a bottle of Smashbomb Atomic IPA by Flying Monkeys of Barrie, Ontario, Canada, Earth, Milky Way, The Universe, Infinity.
I got the location info off the label.
Not to be confused with Flying Monkey (not plural) of Kanasa City, MO, USA, Earth, etc etc.
Not sure where in the USA you can buy this stuff but their importer is in Canton, Ohio, USA,...you know the rest.
Last week reps from the Flying Monkeys brewery came in to check us out and we them, to see if we would distribute their beers, they left samples and our sales manager gave me one.
Management are all Bud Light drinkers and they wanted to know if it is the real deal.
Yes it is but it's just another good IPA and there are hundreds out there.
Which btw why do all "craft" beers taste alike?
Don't get me wrong, of course there are differences but not enough to justify this craft lore that has taken hold.
Craft breweries talk about the sameness of the macros (is it macro?) how a Bud is a Miller is a Coors etc but they all seem to be trying to duplicate each other.
But that's OK, but again why don't they try something in the German style, it's all about the Scottish style of ales.
I hope we get it and I hope we sell a ka-zillion cases, I work for the money and Bud has been very good to my family.

OK, I like Smashbomb Atomic IPA, it's a quality product and very drinkable.
On the grapefruit to pine scale I'd say light on the grapefruit.
It's better than anything Bell's sells except Hopslam.
But it is no where near my favorites, Arcadia Hop Mouth, Founders Centennial and Hopslam.
In spite of the bold name I'd call it an excellent session beer.

Cantillon Vigneronne, freshie from 2013. Good funk, but plenty of fruit, and a nice drying oak finish. Yummmm.

Sipping on an Evil Twin I Love You With My Stout. Solid, very good, but when you invoke "Even More Jesus", I expect spectacular. Fortunately, there is an Aun Mas a Cafe Jesus sitting around, just begging to be opened...

Perfect spring back porch evening here in Georgia. The pollen has subsided, and it is 82 degrees with low humidity. Won't get many more of these before the crushing heat and humidity sets in. This Ommegang Hennepin is a doing just fine too.

Pouring a Deschutes Mirror Mirror BA barley wine at room temperature. This is a damn nice beer. Thinking about going for a few more bruisers tonight.
