Re: What rye are you drinking Spring/Summer 2014?

Opened the Pepper Rye I bought (NAS). They should call this one Denny Green Rye because . . . it was what I thought it was . . . http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SWmQbk5h86w . . . Stuff is LDI, tastes LDI, that being said, for 26 and a 100 proof, not bad, very minty with a hint of pickle. Made a nice Manhatten, wasn't bad straight up. In my opinion if your short Willet 4 yr or don't want to drop the extra 10, this is pretty much an easy substitute minus 10 to 15 proof points.

That's my experience with Pepper Rye as well. I still prefer the Willett 4 yr because I like the extra proof points.

Had two fingers of high west rendezvous tonight while watching Stanley cup playoffs. Go kings!

I paid way too much for a couple tiny servings of rye unicorns at Jack Rose. Rathskeller and Velvet Glove, the latter being the favorite.

Love me some CETHR but at $79.99 it's not worth it when baby Zaz is $31.99 and RITTBIB is $19.99.

TT that's a bargain compared to $89.99 or $99.99 around here. But agree that I'm not a buyer even at your prices.

Nice pour of some Willett 25yr/4yr mingle. The 25yr (100 proof, barrel 1776) was just too oaky for me, but mixed with some 4 yr 110 it drinks nicely. Only wish now I had filled a 200 mL bottle for the trip rather than a 2oz sample bottle!

Last pour of Hirsch 22yr last night.

What at a nose! Could smell that all day. So aromatic and rich.

And the Willett rye mingle is toast - but what a way to wrap up a Monday!
