    Hello from Texas!

Hello! I have been a longtime lurker / reader and figured it was about time to start participating.

My name is Tom and I currently live up in Fort Worth. I will be moving down to Houston in a couple months to start medical school at the ripe old age of 30. I have been enjoying bourbon/rye since I was in college, but have only recently started to learn more about bourbon history and take my hobby more seriously. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge and opinions on this site and hope to soon make some contributions of my own.

    Cheers!

Look me up when you move down to Houston so we can have a pour and you can enlighten me about everything you learn at Medical School. Welcome Aboard!

    Welcome aboard, Tom!
I look forward to your contributions. Bourbon history (in fact, history in general) is fascinating, for sure. A great deal of what's out there are myths and legends; but those are fun, too.... even having a small kernel of truth in many of 'em. Have fun here!

Howdy and welcome! If you haven't been to the downtown Specs in Houston yet, you should probably make that one of your early priorities. It should keep you stocked while you find the smaller stores in your area.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have checked out the Specs on Smith St. a couple times and I make an effort to swing by Poison Girl whenever I am in town to try something new.

Wade, I think I should be settled in by early March so I look forward to joining in for the meet-up!

Welcome anex and see you soon.
I've never tried GTS with any sort of soda. Maybe I'm missing out; but I'm OK with that.

Greetings, Tom ... and good-bye from NE Tarrant County. If you are need of a roadie for your go-cup before departing The Fort, feel free to hit me up on your way to I-45. (And load up on Weller 12 and VOB BiB up here while you can ... I hear it's grim down south.)
