Have mainly drank bourbon lately but had some Glenfiddich Age of Discovery and Glenmorangie Companta last week.

Just curious: which version you're drinking?

Had a nip of Hakushu 12. This is a really composed, even keeled whisky. All the sharp edges seem to be rounded off, which I assume is related to their 3 part blending process. It somehow manages to seem older and younger than 12 years. Just another example of outstanding Japanese single malt at a semi-reasonable price, no big deal.

I agree! That stuff is irresistible. Have you had the Great King Street New York Blend? Not as dynamic at the FH, but a real comfort pour: round and fatty, clean and dirty at the same time.

I love them both. Seriously. I drink the snot out of them every time one is cracked.

John Glaser is a master for sure. Have you had the Last Vatted Malt Joe? It's EPIC! Tom picked up a couple and is always kind enough to share some with me. He has to watch me though because I tend to get carried away with my pours on that one. Man it's so good!

I did have a pour of the GKS NYB at John Glaser 's initiation. Unfortunately, it was towards the end, so I don't remember much of it! Hopefully, one of my brothers will bring it on the 17th, so I can get a redo.
