    Hi from South East KY

    Hi from South East Kentucky!

I have started getting into bourbon the last few years and recently started putting a few bottles back. My current bunker includes Makers Mark, WL Weller Antique, Larceny, Blantons, Elmer T Lee, Elmer T Lee commerative, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Jeffersons Ocean II, Willetts, and Basil Hayden.

Im always looking for new bottels to try. My favs so far are the Blantons, Rock hill farms, and Four roses SB.

I look forward to finding new favs!

    Thanks!

Welcome to 'the board', vorbeck! You have a great start there and, I'm sure will soon enough become an addict like the rest of us.
Do you find Basil H satisfying? If you like it pretty well, but find it a bit subtle; try Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond.
    Have FUN!!!

For the price I was not thrilled with the Basil Hayden. My wife loves it though. I wish it was a higher proof, 80 seemed a little low for me.

Welcome to the board. I drove through SE KY a couple of years ago. Absolutely stunning. I look forward to you comments on what whiskey is working its way to me.

It is available in higher proofs, specifically 100 and 114, under the Old Grand Dad label.

Welcome to SB! As a lover of Blantons and RHF, I would recommend you give Ancient Ancient Age (either 10 yr or 10 Star) a try - same mashbill (but not the same bourbon obviously, although substantially less moolah). As squire has pointed out, finding out which labels are from the same mashbill is often a good way to identify things you may like (but not a complete guarantee; take the Basil Hayden example - I love OGD 100 and OGD 114, but not a fan of Basil). Look forward to your posts!
