    Re: BOTM 8/14: Blanton's

I tried it again last night without anything else before it, I was more impressed but still not sure at $50 plus per bottle if I will buy another.

I saw a picture of folks tasting Blanton's straight from the barrel at BT. Anyone wanna guess how old the barrels were? (Not that that means its always this age, but I suspect its not far off)

8 years? I would hedge and say between 7-9 years, but I'll go with 8.

Had me a taste of this stuff 2 days ago, I always liked this juice, it was up on my list for a long time...until I tried some RHF, and sorry to say it knocked the Blantons down a bit, but still damn good stuff. Now I'll probably have to get me another bottle to sit along side it's cousin RHF.
Everyday my spirit seems to find its way to the bottom of a glass...... Don

Probably the smoothest bourbon readily available. This one is what I call a perfect bourbon for bourbon and non-bourbon drinkers. Bourbon drinkers can enjoy the smooth finish, while non-bourbon drinkers will not find a single bid of the spice or bite to complain about that is found in other bourbons.

I've never had any complaints about Blanton's, but firmly believe that RHF is a better bourbon, and ELT at half the price is just as good.
