Pappys 15 year vs Old Rip Van Winkle 15 year

Pappy's 15 year old appeared on the shelf this week alongside the remaining stock of ORVW 15. Is this the same bourbon in a different bottle or has the formulation changed? I plan a side by side comparison in the very near future (life could be worse) but I'm not so well versed in this kind of comparison that I am likely to detect any subtle differences. Maybe with more practice...

Re: Pappys 15 year vs Old Rip Van Winkle 15 year

I recommend you do a search on the site (ie "ORVW 15yo", etc) as this topic has been discussed in various threads and you might find reading them very helpful. In summary, the whiskey is from the same original source but the barrels are selected for a flavor profile more in line with the other Pappys.
