    Bardstown Commemorative Bottle

This was in our company newsletter

    BARDSTOWN COMMEMORATIVE BOTTLE

For the 225th Anniversary of Bardstown's founding, Heaven Hill has been working with Mayor Dixie Hibbs to develop a Commemorative Bourbon. The earthenware jug will hold Bourbon specially selected by Master Distiller Parker Beam.

The jug will have a special label and be sold at the Bourbon Heritage Center beginning on July 4th. Each aspect of the bottle showcases the special 225 year anniversary, including the 225 months of aging, the $56.25 asking price (equivalent to 225 quarters) and the 225 limited edition bottles available.

The "Bourbon Capital of the World" was established in 1780 by William Bard. Bardstown was originally a part of Virginia when the boundaries of the town were set. The 225 anniversary makes it one of the oldest cities in the Commonwealth.

    ------END--------

P.S. I just got a email from Josh Hafer (Corporate Communications Manger ) He said I can pre-order ---let me know if you want one and I will deliver it during your visit in Sept. at Festival time.

    Re: Bardstown Commemorative Bottle

I recieved this invitation last night. I hope to see a few other Straightbourbon.com members there too!!!!!...

The best part is picking up the "special bottles" for everyone on this forum that asked me to "pre-order" for them ...The bottles will be ready for pick at the BBQ...

How special , just 225 are being produced and Straightbourbon.com made a little dent in that special bottling

Should be a good time...I will post pictures of the event

Thanks for posting the pics, Bettye Jo. That's cool having Parker's and Dixie's signatures on the label. Thanks for picking the ones up for those of us who couldn't be there.

So, it was distilled in 1780? And so the Elijah Craig story isn't true after all ? I'm surprised there was anything left in those barrels.

    Re: Bardstown Commemorative Bottle

The morning after enjoying that 90 proof Louisville Cabin Still with Bobby, I was invited to New Haven to see the Boones on the family spread in New Haven. Always a delight that!

Although I was enticed there to pick up my 225th Bardstown Commemorative Bottle, Bettye Jo, Pat, and their kids surprised me with a hearty breakfast as hospitable as could be imagined.

Although bourbon sampling was not on the agenda, the subject somehow managed to surface among the assembled crew! And much to my surprise and absolute delight, a bottle of 80 proof Louisville Cabin Still was forced upon me on my way out the door!

It goes without saying -- but say it I will -- I am thankful to count Pat and Bettye Jo Boone and Patrick, Therese, and Erica, too, among my friends. Little wonder that I keep returning to Kentucky again and again.

Oh, yeah, that Bardstown Commemorative Bottle is pretty cool!
