Yesterday after reading some positive reviews about the VW Special Reserve 12 Lot B, I took a ride after work and went to 4 liquor stores in the area I work in.
I make my first stop, I walk into this liquor store and scan the shelves and see nothing and notice the prices are just higher than they should be on all their spirits. I am about to leave and look WAY up on a top shelf and spot a Hirsch bottle, but not the 16, but the 20! My heart literally skipped a beat and I grabbed it. It was the last one sitting all alone. I went to the register with it cradled in my arms and the young clerk rang it up. She did a triple take at the register when the price of $220 came up. I said to her, "no, that price is correct". She smirked and rang me up and I was on my way. I'll give it a good home and save it's opening for a special occasion. I know I spent too much, but it's a piece of history.
I did goto 3 more stores after and on the 4th one I found the VW Special Reserve 12 Lot B. I tried it last night, EXCELLENT bourbon.
