I bought a bottle of Old Crow today. 950 yen which puts it well under ten dollars US, maybe under $9.00. I will probably try it tonight.

A lot of the bourbons mentioned in this thread are outside the price range here in Japan. I will use local prices in posting a list when I get around to it.

My favorites under $20 are:
Evan Williams 1783 $10
Buffalo Trace $16
Weller 12 $18

I think all three of those are great and they won't break the bank. Especially the 1783, IMO the best value in bourbon, $10 and I have never been disappointed with a single pour.

I got my first bottle of Old Crow today. Had a wee pour. It is okay. Spirity, burns a bit for the proof. Tastes young. But there were some interesting flavors in there. I could drink it if I didn't have so many other options.

My top two favorite bourbons which can be purchased in my area for a price point not exceeding $.02 per ml would have to be:

Old Charter 12yo (just makes the cut if bought in 1.75ml bottle)

Old Fitzgerald Prime (way cheap at only $19.99 for a 1.75 bottle)

Old Crow with lots of crushed ice works for me.
But I gotta admit, as I am typing this I am sipping an Old Charter 12 Year Old neat, like the label says "The Classic 90"

Well, how "blue collar" do we have to get!? If I had to go below a $10 spot, I don't mind going with Old Charter 8 year. A fifth runs $9.99! I actually like the taste on this one. I keep a bottle or two around.

I would start with bourbons like the AAA 10 yr and Very Rare Old Heavan Hill 10 that qualify price wise (and I love), but, I can't readily get them here in Atlanta. So, the inexpensive, blue collar bourbons that I can get here and enjoy are Ezra Brooks and Old Forrester 100. Actually, IMO, the plain Ezra Brooks, which can be had for $15.00 for the 1.75L, may be one of the most under-rated and underappreciated bourbons I can think of.

I just bought a bottle of Rittenhouse Rye 80 proof for $9.99.

Hard to beat that.
