I attended a recent bourbon sampling event in NYC where the food and drink were a cut about the information about the whiskey. We sampled six whiskies, two at a time. They were all quite good. Maker's and Bulleit, Blanton's and Knob Creek, and Hirsch 16 and Pappy 20.
But in the course of the presentation, Blanton's was identified as an Ancient Age product, Buffalo Trace was never even mentioned, and all kinds of strange yarns were spun out as truth. It was a random, almost sloppy, presentation, and it made me very aware of how much I've benefitted from all that has been shared on this board.
I wish some of the people I've "met" here could have stepped in and answered some questions and provided some history and impressions of the whiskies we were tasting. Anyway, all that by way of saying that I really appreciate the input of all the folks here, particularly those who know so much and are so willing to share it.
