    100 years in the sand

I found this link on TreasureNet.com (great source for metal detecting info).

    http://www.robertwynn.com/Whiskey.html

I think the story is bogus, but what would be the effect of bourbon burried for years in sand (assuming the barrel doesn't leak it all out)? I'm guessing it would not age the same since the temperature differences would be a lot less and might keep a LOT longer without tasting like all wood. Any ideas?

I'm thinking the Angels got their "share" of that stuff many years ago!
