    newby question

Hi, does anyone know if any quality distillers would consider rebranding their product for resell wih another company under a different name? I would think they would as long as they are getting a percentage of profits? My take is it eliminates having to go into the distilling process, faster to market, proven beverage, etc

    Re: newby question

I am brand new to Bourbon, however, it appears that this is already happening. If you look at the straightbourbon.com database there are many bourbons that are from one distillery, however, they are bottled under another name/brand.

Reading the Old Rip Van Winkle website, it says they have a relationship with Buffalo Trace though I don't know what the relationship is.

I'm sure others that are much more knowledgeable will chime in.

This is indeed a very common practice. There are only a handful of distilleries out there producing bourbon. Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, Jim Beam and others all have a lot of brands bottled with their whiskey.
