The other bottle I was recommended was the Wathen's. I don't like it as much as the Blanton or the EC18.

Opinions will vary -- I enjoyed both of the earlier Pappy 23s, but would list the Lawrenceburg bottling among my 'best-ever'. I find the Frankfort 'A' series, alas, a bit too oaky and tannic for my tastes.
Early Wathen's (Owensboro or St. Louis, say, pre-Barrel 150 or so) was very good. Reports have been less than stellar on Wathen's bottled from California. Note that they apparently started numbering @ 1 again with the move.

That depends on whether you like a high wheat or a high rye mashbill bourbon.

I, being a rabid rye fiend, suspect I will prefer the Lawrenceburg bottle over the Frankfort one... once I finally bring myself to open them.

I actually have not tasted the rye type yet. Was thinking to try.

I know I don't like the tannic or spicy flavors that I believe I am tasting from the Wathen. I really like the smooth vanilla and maple flavor though.

Should I be saving the 20 or 23 because of supply therefore wait until I purchase another set before I open them. How do I know if I like it? LOL This is why I am waiting for the 15.

Don't fight the urge (unless your wallet is empty). We've all been bitten by the bourbon bug and collect and drink to our hearts content. I own more bourbon than ever before. Although, there are some SB'ers that are clearly into the 100's of bunkered bottles.....
