After some Knob Creek OTR and in a Manhattan, and a WT Rye and ginger ale out on the town tonight, am settling in for the Stars v. Canucks game with some straight ORVW 15 yr... which by the way is some downright delicious stuff.

Leaving the Eagles in the cabinet tonight. Enjoying ORVW/10-107 alone this evening. For whatever reason, just seemed like the right time to turn back to a wheater after several nights in a row with rye recipes. Very, very enjoyable!

Is that a recent bottling of ORVW 10 or a L'Ville?

JB Black. My first bottle (375 ml.) of this stuff. OK but not as flavorful or complex as Knob Creek. A little disappointing, particularly after seeing mostly positive reviews. I doubt that I'll buy another.

I hear ya. For the price, this stuff ain't bad. But it's definately not a favorite. I can't drink JB Black neat (my typical preference for Bourbon). But over crushed ice on a hot summer evening.... not bad.

The 101 proof I have, Timothy, is a cinnamon-added liqueur. Was the straight bourbon ever bottled at 101 proof?

I'm pretty sure there was, but the last time I remember having it was almost a decade ago, so I could be mistaken...hmmm...damn, don't know where I would even look that up...
