per year on bourbon? On spirits in general?

If I had to make a rough guess, I'd say $800-1200 per year on bourbon, and maybe $200-300 more on random other spirits I'll try drinking neat (it's fun to explore, but usually I just remind myself how much I love bourbon). I hope to get this figure down since I don't drink anywhere near that. I just like having lots of options and it's one of the few things I care to spend money on.

Of course, the arrival of the BTAC tends to account for a healthy percentage of all this

I spend about $ 800 per year on Whiskey. Mostly Bourbon or Rye. None from north of the border but sometimes Irish or Scotch. I wonder how much is spent on beer? Probably about the same.

Too much according to my wife.

My problem is that as I see deals, I purchase and bunker. For instance, in VA they don't carry Weller Antique 107. So when I'm in another state and see it on the shelf, I pick it up for future drinking.

In the last couple of months I've tried to curb my bourbon purchases. Unfortunately, I'm not always successful....for instance, I have a line on some AAA 10 year so I'm going to go and pick up a bottle or two. At the same time, I know this store has some EWSB 1996 so if they have some bottles dated Sept or earlier, I'll pick those up also.....

So...in answer to your question....maybe $100-$125 a month.

SInce joining the board my alcohol purchases have gone from a variety of spirts to all bourbon and keeping 1 bottle of vodka and rum on hand.

Between that and brewing beer....I bet I spend a TON of cash on booze. ALthough I def drink more beer than bourbon but mostly b/c I don't have another conissour down here. If I lived in Portland it'd be a different story!

It varies. I haven't bought much in the past month or so but previous to that I was snagging a couple bottles a week of WT RR 101 from a store that had a good sized stash. So about $1200 to $1400 a year. Seventy percent of that on Bourbon/rye.

My monthly purchases vary. Some months are zero and others are several hundred dollars. I don't even have a budget, I now mostly scoop up dusties when I find them. This month will be a busier month due to the SB Pappy 23 being released. My 2 prime purchase months are July (vacation) and November (birthday/upcoming holidays). Recently my purchases have been low due to the fact that I have nearly everything current that I want!

I was surprised when reading this post and reflecting on how much I've spent on alcohol.

I checked my credit card statements and it seems that I have spent just under $2900 this year. Guess it's not too bad as we are about 30 weeks into the year.

This would include beer, wine and spirits.

Beer really only runs about 20 bucks a week.

I go in spurts with wine as I quite enjoy it with dinner. Sometimes it's two bottles a week and then it's none for a month. I have stocked up quite a bit on wine this year. Some will end up being gifts for the holidays. And last month New Hampshire ran a 15 percent off sale if you bought 12 bottles or more. They had some great deals on Santa Rita wines from Chile, which are really good for the price.

I've stocked up on spirits lately also. Eagle Rare goes on sale for 20 bucks and I can't resist.

If I didn't do any stocking up or entertaining I'd have to say that it would run on average about $50 per week.
