What bourbon did you purchase today? (Fall '07)

For no reason whatsoever, while at the store earlier today I picked up a bottle of the standard Ancient Age 80 proof. It was cheap and I haven't had it in awhile. Might try it with seltzer.

I have had no AA in a long time, but I am sure it would be real good with seltzer.

I made the trip to Chicago and picked up all three offerings from Four Roses. Put a good dent into the small batch. The single barrel will be cracked open tomorrow during the GB Oakland game. I've been on a bit of a spree lately. Other notable purchases include GTS 07, VWFRR 13, Saz 18, Knob creek and JB white. The last two are for the holidays and those individuals that must mix.

But I received a Glenlivet 12you (thanks, neighbor down the street!) and an OFBB 2002 (thanks, Grain Brain!) for my birthday. Great pair of gifts.

Yesterday, WT 12YR Split Label. $46.00+tax. Bottled 5-7-98.

I left a bottle of Wathens and a Rebel Yell with a fake tax strip on the cap in the store. They wanted $20.00 for the Rebel Yell. The state price is $13.95.

I don't recall seeing Wathens on the shelves in MI before nor have I ever seen it listed in the on-line book.

Are these bottles worth going back to purchase?

Possibly, the early bottlings of Wathens are quite well liked around here, and depending on age the Rebel Yell could be S-W stock.
