Nashville Area Stores w/Good Selection?

I'll be traveling to Nashville in a couple days, and am looking for some recommendations for liquor stores with a good selection of bourbons and ryes.

I do know about MacDoogal's. Stores in the downtown area and to the south, toward Brentwood and Franklin, would be most convenient for me; but any area is fine.

Try Red Dog Wine & Spirits, west of Exit 65 in Franklin, south of Nashville. Go west off the ramp, turn left when you see the McDonald's on the NW corner, and turn left into the Publix shopping center. Red Dog is next door to the supermarket. The owner is a Scotch aficianado, too, and has more than 150 different, at last count, but also has a fine selection of other whiskeys, including bourbon.
Midtown Wine & Spirits, on Church St. west of downtown Nashville, also has decent selection, but is a bit pricier.
Of course, an hour's drive north from Nashville will get you to Bowling Green, KY, where there are several fine bourbon stores, in particular the two Chuck Evans outlets. An advantage there is that you will find the Kentucky-only releases.

I was already planning to visit another business within rock-throwing distance of Red Dog W&S, so I'll be sure to check that out.

Time won't permit a side trip to Bowling Green on this outing, alas, but I'd already been holding that idea in reserve for another of my trips to Nashville (I get up there at least three times a year).

As a follow-up question ... I said, "I do know about MacDoogal's." I should have added that what I don't know is how good their selection of bourbons is. Are they worth visiting, or would I be better off just going to Red Dog and possibly Midtown?

I was just in Midtown last week; their selection is pretty good, if a little on the pricey side. Don't know if you're looking for it, but they had some Wild Turkey American Spirit when I was in there.

Another place I've had some luck finding good bottles is Mr. Whiskers on White Bridge Road. They've got a really good selection and reasonable (for Nashville) prices.

Ack, I should have mentioned in my OP ... having just recently started branching out from my staples of Wild Turkey and Knob Creek, at this point I'm mainly looking for the $20-30 "beginner" bourbons that receive a lot of airplay here on SB.com: Weller 12yo or 107, OGD 112, ELT SB, ER SB, etc etc etc; and the Rittenhouse BIB rye.

Frugal Mac's gets (illegal, by the way -- but it's an illegality winked at by the ABC, unlike collecting old whiskey) preferential treatment from distributors -- it's the state's biggest liquor store. Need I say more?
That said, however, I'd note that they have a noticeable lack of knowledge about what they have. They're just good at selling the stuff.
No Weller 12yo in Middle Tennessee anymore, alas (and only 1.75Ls previously), but the others you mention are all accounted for -- at least here and there.
