    Michigan Buying Resource

For those of us who live in the land of limited selection, minimum pricing, and import controls, I found a semi-helpful resource:

    http://www.cis.state.mi.us/lcc_code/sr_lcc.asp

This site allows the consumer to search for any liquor available in the state. Please note that BIBs are listed separately from straight bourbons.

Entirely apophatic in nature, this lest serves the bourbon connoisseur to define what is not available through omission. Kyrie Eleison.

    Re: Michigan Buying Resource

Gee, pick me up a bottle of DEUCES WILD DILUTD OLD STY BBN, which I interpret as Deuces Wild Diluted Old Style Bourbon. The listing further shows it as 70 proof. What's that about? I know Ohio sells diluted spirits that are 42 proof, because anything below 42 proof may be sold in grocery stores, convenience stores, anywhere beer and wine are sold. Higher proof stuff can only be sold in liquor stores. Does Michigan have something like that?

    Re: Michigan Buying Resource

Michiganders can buy anything allowed by the state at almost any grocery store. Kroger/Meijer/Quality Dairy even sell Bacardi 151 "over the counter."

Our few Trader Joe's locations only sell beer, wine, fortified wine, and low proof spirits, such as Irish Cream.

As for DEUCES WILD DILUTD OLD STY BBN, I am reluctant to get excited when the wold "Diluted" appears on any product I buy.
