Against my better judgment a couple of bottles of Hirsch 16 - and based upon too many recommendations to count a bottle of Parkers 122.6.

The 07 offering of VWFRR and the 06 edition Stagg
Today, one bottle of Weller 7/107 (paper label) and a bottle of Fundador Jerez brandy, plus a proper brandy snifter.
The Fundador is inexpensive ($20 for the bottle), and I opened it almost immediately to give it a try. Mmmmmmmm, good stuff. It's interesting to contrast it against a heavily sherried single-malt Scotch like Aberlour A'Bunadh - they both have that strong sherry note, but the brandy is clearly brandy and the whisky is clearly whisky.
The Weller, of course, has been a favorite of mine from the first taste...
Oh no! You have walked into the slavering fangs of a lurking grue!
I use crushed ice cubes for my Bourbon Mist but only a jigger of bourbon, this is how I learned of it.
I have never heard of EW White Label BIB and I just recently became aware of EW Green Label.
The next time I am down south I will try to get both.

We were out with some friends last night and ended up at a small pub in Georgetown Indiana.
I was somewhat dissapointed to find that they only had two Bourbons in stock!
So after I finished off their bottle of Makers... the other bottle was Very Old Barton which I had never had before. I really enjoyed it but didnt think to ask which proof this was. I was impressed with it even though I understand it is a bottom shelf offering.
Think I'll run out and grab a bottle for the house!

Picked up some Sazerac Rye. I had never tried a good rye before. Wow, what a nice tasting pour. My old stand by JD keeps getting pushed farther back into the cabinet!

As long as you have good whiskey you're not "unemployed", you're "Funemployed!!!"
