    Bourbon Is A Vegetable.

Men who ate at least four servings of vegetables and drank at least two alcoholic beverages daily were less likely to develop benign prostate hyperplasia than those who ate or drank less than those amounts per day, researchers found in a seven-year study. The study also suggests that the risk of BPH increases in men who eat red meat every day. More

Got the alcohol part down but the red meat cancels that out for me. Guess I should drink more?

Difficult to calculate my risk. Considering how small modern serving seizes are, I probably eat at least five servings of vegetables (slathered in butter) a day, but I also eat at least a pound of meat a day and I don't drink everyday.

I guess I should drink more, but with the extra calories coming from alcohol, I'd have to cut down on the cookies and candy.

Some vegetables cause me to "seize" as well.....such as asparagus, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. To date, no bourbon has caused me to seize......now Scotch is a different story.

Maybe this is a testament to my stupidity or lack of detail, but I didn't notice it until Old Lamplighter mentioned it.

And, nobody here better reply to this post by saying, "Ill take the former for five-hundred, Alex."

Ouch, the number of qualifiers and disclaimers in there hurt my head. I guess it's not supposed to be simple.

My body tolerates one drink/day very well, and two/day pretty well (depends on conditions). If I drink more I usually regret it (once the buzz has worn off). I think people should try to be more experienced in listening to their own body. It will do a pretty good job of moderating you if you let it.
