As I continue my explorations into Canadian territory, I've come to appreciate the fine qualities of CR. Of the many blends I've tasted, this has the least GNR bite to it.
Last night, I purchased a bottle of the regular Crown Royal that had a bonus 50ml bottle of Crown Royal Reserve. Tonight I poured myself a pony of it and am enjoying it quite a bit. It has a dryness to it that I find compliments the typical smooth, sweetness of the normal CR. I may even get a bottle of CRR soon. What I'm wondering is if this is a somewhat new expression. I just went on the CR website and they stated the label has changed. I believe this is what CR Special Reserve used to be, no? How long has this change been in place?

I do have a bottle of Forty Creek. It's pretty good stuff too. Their advertising states that it was voted the best Canadian whiskey. Even beat out CR Reserve. I dunno about that. I still have a soft spot in my heart for regular CR. Hard to beat CR as a Canadian whiskey in my book. Joe
