Re: Pappy 20 barrel proof specialty bottling

I'm always a sucker for a whisky that I'll probably never taste again, especially if it's old enough to vote. I'm in (depending on the final price).

I would buy one or two. I regret missing the SB.com Pappy 23.

Re: Pappy 20 barrel proof specialty bottling

I just wanted to know how the Pappy 20 SB from Sam's tasted and if anyone here tasted it.

FWIW, after being part of the Pappy 23 sb.com group, I think in order to make it worth someone's effort and time there should be a royalty paid as a thank you to whoever organizes something like this in the future. Some $$ a bottle, that way the HUGE burden has some small reward.

    I think that's a good idea

A lot of work goes into doing that kind of thing. Showing one's appreciation with "extra gratuity" is most excellent

We know who did the excellent "organization" is that endeavor. He's probably wanting to tell me to "hush" right now

For new folks on the fourm.

SB.com, Pappy 23 was made possible by two people on these forums.

Although, I must step in here and note that we are offering SB.com wearables at this time. The sole purpose that I do this is to show my appreciation for making Straightbourbon.com available to me day and night year after year. Everyone can show thier support for all the work being done on these fourms by buying a item (or two) at this time. More information and procedure is here--->http://www.straightbourbon.com/forum...9&postcount=50 The Bourbon Social, 2008 Sampler.

The SB.com, Single Barrel,Pappy 23 would not have been possible without Straightbourbon.com.

The Kentucky Barrel Society are the chosen one's who actually pick barrels for SB.com. The pay is being honored as one of the "chosen one's"

    BettyeJoe, brilliantly said!

I WISH I could volunteer, but I do not have the clout or relationships to get something like this done. That's why I am not implying in ANYWAY for someone to step up and do it. I wasnt trying to stir up interest, I figure if it did happen there would be PLENTY who would want to get their hands on barrel proof SW whisky!

I point a lot of people to this site. This is THE bourbon place on the web.

Re: Pappy 20 barrel proof specialty bottling

I think we only had about 6 cases in that Sam's 20-year barrel. It was very light.
And sorry, we have so little 20-year available now, there will be no 20-year barrel proof available, even for you nice SB.comers.

Yeah, it sure is, but I hope my reply was not taken in the mode of "barrel purchase" but rather SB.com support.
