Tim, sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime bourbon and coke (I hope ). While I have no business telling you what to do with your whiskey, I hope you'll stick to the Weller Special Reserve for those B&C's and savor that wonderful bourbon neat .

Tonight I'm enjoying some Weller myself....Centennial 13 yr form Julio's. What a great pour that always delivers the goods. It's the pour I prefer to start with most nights that I'm drinking bourbon. Then I'll move on to some Pappy 15 or 20 depending on the mood....

Something different tonight: Hardys Whiskers Blake Tawny Port. Very inexpensive yet was given a 94 rating. Great tawny. It reminds me of a less overpowering Pedro Ximenez. Lots of raisins and toffee.

One of the greatest values in Tawny port today!! Also a great product to cook with.

Got home late last evening from a trip I really did not want to make..... and as a result missed a local bourbon gathering which I am sure was outstanding.

To ease the pain I pulled out an old favorite... Hirsch 13 yo Rye... rich, elegant, great mouth feel and finish. IMO one of the best rye's in the cabinet. Sadly this is my last bottle... anyone have any thoughts on where I can locate another bottle of this? I heard that it may have been bottled by RVW???

Out of interest...how much does this sell for in the US?
I am amazed at how cheap Australian wines are there......here there is a 29% tax on it then GST of 10% is added.
Not sure if it's available in the US, but if you see Grant Burge Tawny Port it is worth grabbing.

Weller Antique last night. On Saturday I made an ETL Mint Julep for the Preakness (I did not know how, nor want to, make a Black Eyed Susan. Besides, I still had some minted syrup left over from the Derby)
