Nothing fancy, just some Talisker 10. The pepper in this one never gets old.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.- Ernest Hemingway
I guess a bit of aging in California wine casks doesn't seem to hurt!
Will be interesting to see how these whiskies sourced from Cooley do in the next few years now that Beam has purchased Cooley since it is reported they will scale back on contract whiskey to build up Kilbeggan, leaving independents potentially scrambling for sources.
Don't start a panic but if you like it you might want to stock up!

This bottle was a very generous gift so it is much appreciated. This is my first pull from this bottle but I find that dessert wine finishes add too much to an already "sweet" Springbank malt (tastes too "winey" to me) - it's a tad hot and astringent too but it may take some time for it to open up and a few more tastings to get my mind around this.
Caveat: I had Indian food before this so my palate may have been way out of whack ;-)

Was sipping a dram of Mackmyra First Edition (Swedish single malt) last night, fairly tasty for such a young whisky. I've been nursing the bottle though since I have never seen one for sale outside of the duty free shop in Sweden
Anyone spotted one of these in the wild?
Enjoying isn't nearly strong enough...been a mild winter so far, but pretty good and cold tonight, so I decided to give the Laphroaig QC a go. Kinda in love with this right off the bat. Just sweet and spicy, and with that smoky finish that gives and gives and...very nice pour.
