Last Saturday I saw an 0ld Pultney 21 I couldn't pass up. They have been scarce and I wanted to try it.
Found a store with good prices kind of far from my house so I loaded up a bit. I grabbed a Glenfarclas 12, Caol Ila Distiller's Edition, and a Lagavulin 16, also got a Macallan 12 that came with a free mini of the 18. I think they call this "self gifting".

Seems you were spot on. I'm not really sure what to do. I definitely would prefer #3...
But I won't find #6 locally, and I would rather not mess with repackaging and returning. I guess I'll cellar it and be happy knowing I've got a top-notch Balvenie in reserve.
...even if everyone says its not as brilliant as the 3.
Picked up an Ardbeg 10 year, which I've never tried. I've been hearing so much about all of the Ardbeg limited releases, but I figured I should start with the standard expression first.
A coworker gave me a bottle of Chivas Regal 18. I usually don't buy blends, but this is pretty good.
Replaced an almost dead bottle of Caol Ila 12.
