It is 111.4 proof and I like it better than the standard 10 and it is about the equal of the 15 depending on my mood. It certainly stands up to a strong cigar better than the 15 and that is why I got it.

I also picked up two of the Caol Ilas 12's. I thought I read somewhere that this was on the lighter side of Islay but I didn't get that impression last night.

I'm with you on that. I think Caol Ila 12 is fantastic: full-bodied and well balanced with plenty of peat and smoke that most associate with Islay malts. I really love this stuff!

I love the combination of sweetness and peaty/smokiness in this one.

Haven't picked them up yet, but I did put a Laphroiag 30 YO and 2 15 YO on hold yesterday (didn't want to put on credit card when I had gift cards at home). Will pick them up sometime this week probably.

Tom, are you back to bank robbing again or do you have a nice Ponzi scheme going?

Now you know better than that....I'm just a simple retiree living off your tax dollars <G>..... besides there's too much competition around here with the ponzi and financial fraud types.

To be honest, I decided to treat myself because a planned trip to Vegas got cancelled and combined with the fact that these are probably the last of the expressions (and the store had excellent prices) .... I again broke my resolution not to buy many new bottles this year.
