The 105 reminds me of the Balvenie Founder's Reserve 10 only a bit more citrus. There is very little if any Sherry presence even though it was supposedly Sherry finished. Besides the fact that it is the first single malt bottling of Kininvie there really is nothing special about it. I've heard that the 107 is better but I'm not going to open mine anytime soon to find out.

Picked up my first Auchentoshan 12 today. I'll post some thoughts later on.
I picked up a bottle of Laphroaig 18-year today for a little under $60 at the local state store. At a healthy 96 proof, it seemed like a much better buy than the Lagavulin 16.
I haven't cracked it open yet, but I'll give a detailed review when I do.

Shopper's Vineyard is having a sale on Ardbeg Airgh Nam Beist for 40% off. I jumped on a pair of them. Yes, they will ship to PA.

according to Chu'Wuti, there are two distinct bottlings of Corryvreckan. One is earth-shattering and ridiculously incredible, the other one is solid, good, and wholesome... but not a devestating earthquake of peat on your palate.
I was actually considering grabbing a bottle of Airigh Nam Beist for my mom, but now that she is a member here, she will probably see this without my help. We'll see. I think that might be a peat-monster I'll like.
I was able to pick up a bottle of Highland Park 18 and Oban DE 1993 with my Binny's coupon!
On the advice of Oscar - Laphroaig 18 yr. $69 is pretty tough to beat for a 18 year old single malt.
