Sounds good! I expect a review.

I picked up Wiser's 18 year old. Maybe all the gold medals put me in the mood for a good Canadian whisky. Here are some notes:

Nose
Sweet and full. Toffee, table syrup. Dried leaves. Hint of mineral (wet rocks).

Taste
Crisp with oak and rye, followed by a surge of sweet corn. Evolves with hard caramel candy and that mineral note again.

Body
Full and thick, almost syrupy.

Finish
Rather long. Dries on crisp leafy flavours, but a touch of sweetness persists.

Impressions
A big, bittersweet Canadian whisky, less subtle than others in its class. Follows the established Wiser’s profile of a more full-flavoured Canadian whisky. Comes across as a bit too sweet at times, perhaps, but satisfying nonetheless.

Finally got around to breaking it open. did you say CAMPFIRE?!!! Going to be tasting that baby for "days on end". Surprising very little sweet, more in the QC and CS versions. Very dry, bone dry finish. Reminds me of some of the old stuff .. from like the early 1980's.

Don't know if it is "water of life" but I picked a bottle of Johnny Walker Green. I have wanted to try this for a while - blended Scotch is pure malt and in my opinion "vodka scotch", so a pure malt blend is more what I think a blend should be. $59.99 less 25% at a liquor store going out of business that Bob and Randy told me about.
