Picked up a Balvenie 12 yr Doublewood today to replace the bottle I killed my last night. I payed 39.99 less than a month ago and now it's at $52. Geez. I wish my paycheck grew at that rate.
Whisk(e)y - a bargain at any price !!!
Picked up some Old Pulteney 12 yr. Leaving on a road trip to the coast and thought the salty brine in this one would taste even better by the ocean![]()

New purchase! Dun Bheagan Islay vintage 1999. I heard a rumour that this is actually an independent bottling of Lagavulin, but to me it tastes more like Bowmore. Very salty, smokey, a bit floral. Powerful stuff; it will take a bit of getting used to, but it's great for when a big, smokey malt is called for. Cheaper than just about any other Islay malt around these parts, too.
Yesterday I bought two 100 ml bottles of The Glenrothes Select Reserve. I enjoy buying whisky in these smaller amounts and I wish 100, 200 and 375 ml bottles were commonplace. If you are in or near PA, they are going for 4.99$ + tax per bottle. That's not too bad considering a 50 ml of The Macalan 12 is 4$ a pop.
A bottle of 1967 Glen Keith (distilled in 1967, bottled in 2006). Not cheap but it is my birth year and I had to have it ;-) Now to wait for a special occasion.
I bought a bottle of Craggonmore 12. I'm waiting for a special occasion, like 7 pm.
