Binny's 15% off coupon day (excludes allocated and cellar items) and as the bourbon cupboard is quite full I picked up a batch 39 Aberlour A'bunadh at $51 with the discount...and some excellent cheap Portuguese red wines too.

My bottle of Compass Box's The Last Vatted Grain arrived today along with an Ileach Cask Strength (I think it's supposed to be a sherried Laphroaig, but have not seen anything definitive)

Picked up 2 HP12's in Atlanta (each came with a free 50 ml of HP18) for $34 ea. Then I grabbed 2 Laphroaig 18's for $59 ea at the duty free coming back into Canada! What a score (it goes for $179.99 at the LCBO :-() !

The Dark Side Temptor at McScrooge's insisted I try a sample of Springbank 12 yr Cask Strength. He might as well have reached in my pocket and taken $70 at the same time. I hadn't completely swallowed my first sip before I ran and grabbed a bottle from the shelf to take home. Magnificent whiskey.

I hear ya, Rich. I really need to nip this is the bud. That's all I need now, is to be chasing SM's.

We might need to work out a try-before-you-buy GBS offshoot where everyone picks a bottle from a list and then we get together for sampling. We kind of do that with bourbon at GBS meetings but hell, 50%-75% of that stuff you can't really get readily anyway.

    Just a thought.
