Forgot to mention the Compass Box Asyla. This is probably going to become my new "daily pour."
Just like they promise-- high-quality oak, a high proportion of malt, and a mellow 80 proof. Everything a Scotch-loving man needs.

I brought home a bottle of Spingbank 10/100. Has this expression changed much over the years? I had a terrific taste from a bar bottle 9 months ago, but I think the one I got is an older bottling. The label is light in color instead of the black I see in recent pictures, and there's an insert in the box that talks about 2004 as being in the future. I'm not sure how far into the future 2004 was at bottling, but I have to assume it's from the early '00s.
I'm excited to get into it, but I should really finish an open bottle of scotch first... My scotches tend to stay open much, much longer than my bourbons and ryes.

Picked up a bottle of Compass Box "The Spice Tree" - believe this is the second bottling.

Supposedly the quality of bottles in the 90s and early aughts was patchy, but improved drastically, starting in 2009. I haven't had earlier ones, so I can't corroborate.
Springbank is my favorite scotch brand, and the 10/100s I've had are gone as quickly as my bourbons, while my other scotches just sit there, like yours do.
My wife bought me a bottle of Monkey Shoulder on the recommendation of the local Binny's staff. I have heard great things about this malt blend.
A week or so ago, I got a bottle of Glem Grant 10yr. SMS. Another one off my want list!

Grabbed a bottle of Glendronach 12. Looking forward to trying it this weekend.
Found a bottle of Ardbeg 17 toady and snatched it up for the low price of $88.00. Lucky me![]()
