An Alchemist's indy bottling of Mortlach that was aged entirely in ex-bourbon barrels. Real unusual when Mortlach, like Macallan, is best known as a sherried whisky.

That's awesome! Have you opened it? I love trying the "naked" versions - it really helps me train my palate.

I found a semi-dusty bottle of HP18 with an old sticker price of $78 not long ago. Current bottles have a different label and run around $95+ around here, so I was very happy.

That is a very nice find. Both on price and quality, from what I understand. As good as HP18 is, earlier versions are supposedly even better - I've only had bottlings over the past three years so I have no basis of comparison. Would like to hear what you think when you get around to opening it.
