Right now I've probably got a few too many open, and most are dusties:

Old Weller Antique from around 1991

Weller Centennial (Louisville label/BHC)

OCPR (BHC)

Old Charter 10 (Louisville label - I don't get this whiskey at all. It tastes pretty good, but it smells terrible, sort of like hay that's started to rot. Putting the glass to my mouth is somewhat traumatic. But again, it's really quite tasty once it gets in my mouth.)

VOB BIB

Old Heaven Hill BIB NAS

ND-era Old Taylor 6/86

ND-era Old Taylor 6/80

ND-era Old Taylor BIB

Noah's Mill

Old Forester BIB (dimpled bottle from the late 80's)

Old Forester 86 (late 70's, I think)

Old Fitz BIB from around 1981 (Thanks again, Greg!)

Beam Black circa ~1979

Antique from Athertonville, 6/80 from the 80s

Old Pogue

Woodford

WT RR101

WTKS

WT Rye

WT 8-year (Delicious, but the bottle confuses me: it's a liter in the current export trade dress, with Japanese writing on the back, but I bought it in a dinky little Chicago liquor store. No idea how it got there.)

Yellowstone 86 proof from Louisville

Pikesville Rye

Mellow Corn BIB

That's way too many open bottles...I'll consider this thread an intervention that I need to start knocking some of them off.

I've read the old Bernheim plant had notorious quality control control in the fermentation, to the point they rebuilt the distillery.

The description you give is pretty familiar. I've usually had good luck with Charter, but very hit and miss with Harper. It's a crap shoot.

Sounds like you've got some good cookin' bourbon to me.

 Um...well...it's now 82. Just opened an OGD 114. Kick, you still need to get to Bardstown. They'll be 82 bourbons on that Gazebo table that you've never even heard of!! It's the most amazing thing you've ever seen.

82 is a fair amount, but I know there are open bars striding along SB.com that dwarf that. There's one in New Hope that would make you faint!! I about did when I saw it. Then, there's the ones in Houston, Louisville/NYC/Shenzhen, Baldwin, Nashville...Never seen these, but I can imagine.

But, if there's no place else to go, I'll host the party!!

I am more than willing to do a road trip comparison of these bars to determine which are truly up to par. Just let me know what days* would be best.

*Note: Bars featuring at least 10 untried bourbons must provide at least an 8 hour lay over.

WOW!!!.......I am no where close. In fact, I fear to open too many.....not enough space and I am too good at hiding things from myself. No telling what will be found around the house someday when I am gone.

If by chance the bunker ever goes belly up, I do have cousins in GA that I could tell the wife I am going to visit at any point in time you are open for company!

I also checked Joe's list to be sure the Boubon Supreme was still open and ready. You never know when you might be wanting a little "musty cardboard" in your glass.

I have some from '90 that's UNDRINKABLE, but musty cardboard is a great note, along with melting plastic.

Hey, don't forget that tinge of week old sweat socks!! :D Alas, I have only 1 bottle left of that delicious juice, as the last bottle met it's demise in Bardstown. Killed by the Great Dane with a record toss of 23'-7"!!... My last bottle will remain untapped. Only to be opened when proper guests come to visit. (This should pretty much guarantee that everyone bypasses ATL, while on their way to Florida!:D) Ahhhh, Bourbon Supreme...Makes JBW seem like Pappy 15. Heck, it makes piss seem like Pappy 15!! :)

Joe, I was thinking of deviating my route to go through Atlanta when I saw your list of open bottles. But your comment about Bourbon Supreme tells me to take the direct route. You're a great guy and I'd love to visit, but not if I have to drink cow piss or Bourbon Supreme! Guess I'll just wait and tilt a glass with you In Bardstown.

Some people may think Joe is bs'ing on an open list that extreme, but I can witness to this "disorder". It is a good thing, though, that he's a friend and lives only 5 miles away.
