Finished off a bottle of PVW15 from this Fall by making sampler bottles for some friends/co-workers to share the wealth.

Hopefully the gods will smile upon my charity come spring release.

We celebrated a friends 45th birthday in style. A PHC Golden Anniversary and a WTAS both gave their last drops to ensure our happiness during poker.

Poured out the last of a 4R Yellow Label. I'm still finding it a bit thin on the mouth feel and flavor, though the flavor is enjoyable. However, it's getting replaced with a SmB as the next 4R offering I want to try.

Poured out the last of a Baby Saz. Loved it, need to pick up more. 9/10 of this bottle was poured out to friends as Manhattans at a party I hosted a few weeks ago.

These two small glasses are my reward for getting all the chores done tonight (including setting out the trash and recycling bin with the fresh empties). Also in the bin were a dry and a sweet vermouth I unearthed in the back of the bar cabinet, both turned icky (and the sweet threw a sediment!), and both poured down the drain.

Time for a little bottle shopping this weekend.

A Pappy 15 and a ORVW 10/107 bit the dust in the last week.

I forgot one. I also finished a 1990 JW Dant BIB, DSP KY 2/16.

Finished off a 2007 WLW the other night.

      I feel your pain Jacob. That's a darn good bottle. My favorite WLW. I have one open that's about at it's end. I'll be crying again soon. Cheers! Joe

Finished off an ND era Bourbon DeLuxe the other night. The bottle is so pretty I poured the rest of my handle of Weller 12 in it to keep it a little more air tight as the Weller has hit a great sweet spot.

Also killed off an Old Charter 8 and 10, neither will be replaced.

In the past week I finished off the last pours of the following bottles:

Weller 12

EC12

OGDBIB

Fortunately, I have a spare of each.

A bottle of Buffalo Trace hit the bim today, and I am feeling quite torn. The first bottle I jad was some of the best bourbon I have ever had, but this one was a complete let down. Feeling unsure about rolling the dice to see which "version" I wind up with.

Another Saz Jr left here with the grim reaper last night/early morning...replacement from the bunker already in place though.

Emptied a Pappy 15 this weekend up in Milwaukee at a volleyball tourney.

Had people (whisky novices) trying bourbon and Isle of Jura Prophecy; they were surprised at how much they liked them, even some women.

Emptied a 2000 EWSB the other night. I know of 1 bottle on a shelf, I just hope it's still there when my Bourbon buying freeze is over in March. Damned self-control.

Polished off the rest of a 2010 ER17. I have way too much stuff open at the moment so I have been trying to drink down some stragglers with only a little bit left.

I hear ya' Tico. I try and do the same, but it's easier said than done sometimes. Cheers!

Scientific Evidence that the "last" shot from a bottle might be the best, psychologically at least.

I already believed it, especially when it is a bottle you know won't be found for a long time. I think it has can be attributed to that special taste combination of charcoal sediment and tears.

I finished bottles of PHC 2010 124.2 and WTAS tonight. I'm happy and sad at the same time...I really want to get my open bottle count down but I will really miss these two pours! :(

I polished off an 2000 EWSB last night. With all the buzz about this bourbon, I highly anticipated this bottle. It was not in your face with flavor - more subtle and complex than I expected. I found several bottles at a good price, so I can look forward revisiting this as a excellent "value pour". Also found a 1997 in Texas over the holidays - anticipating this opening (soon).
