jersey12
Thanks for the links. I'm quite a fan of manhattans and will probably give these a try.
bigtoys
Gibson's Steakhouse in Chicago does a Rush St. Manhattan: Woodford, sweet vermouth, Cherry Heering. I had one last night there; I asked the bartender on a previous visit and I'm pretty sure he said 3-1-1 (like TSA liquid carry on guidelines). I upped the Cherry Heering to 2 and used Woodford Double Oaked. I also used Carpano Antica vermouth. 2 Luxardo cherries in the bottom. Can't remember if they use bitters (?orange bitters?); I didn't tonight. Here's the drink.

humchan2k
Nicely done there. I go through a bottle of Cherry Heering about every 3 months or so, it's a staple on my bar.I know this sounds crazy, but the next time you want to have rye/ginger, put a little Cadillac Margarita-style float of Cherry Heering in there...it makes rye/ginger absolutely dynamite.I'll even up the ante for you, and post my fave cocktail I make for my mom, courtesy of the legendary Murray Stenson:The Master Of The Hounds - created by Murray Stenson, www.murrayaid.org, very minor adjustment by Brendan:2oz Rye - Rittenhouse is a must, no baby Saz, it needs that spice0.5oz Simple Syrup, I make 1-1.75oz Cherry HeeringAngosturaCombine, stir, strainGarnish - Flamed orange peel. If you flame it, they will drink it.Voila!

humchan2k
If you don't have Ritt, from that list, I'd just go Bulleitt, let me know what you think! The flamed orange is a BIG part of the drink, so don't skimp on dat!
squire
From that list I was thinking Bulleit as well.
