Hey Rich, check your local. Looks like Michigan just got the C919. Great batch. I scored some in Ohio and just picked up A120. I’ll let everyone know my thoughts on the “A” batch.

West MI has some c919 still on the shelves... Grabbed one last week, keeps me warm with single digit weather upon us

A while back picked up C919 136.8 proof.   Not been that enthused.  Been doing lots of Elijah 12 year different iterations last couple months and getting less enthused with C919.  Just had 4 tulip glasses (full shot) Elijah 12 year from right before changeover (poorest of all my 12 years) and then poured tulip of C919; C919 reminds me of kerosene.  I do like the proof point and that makes it enjoyable.  I'll do C919 rest of the evening and be glad it's here.

Wooo.  I’ve read this like 9 times, and I’m still not sure what you’re saying...  ?

I have had a several bottles of ECBP over the years.  I have had a bottle of almost every batch.  I agree that some batches are stellar while others are less stellar.  Sometimes it takes a lot of work before I find the sweet spot in a particular batch.  The first batch A313 and B519 were two batches that I struggled with.  I remember buying a bottle of the highly sought after first batch and thinking "wow, I am not sure what to think."  I found the sweet spot but not until close to the end of the bottle.  I have had a similar experience with two bottles of B519.  For this reason, I don't buy a second bottle until I try the first.  I have not tried C919 since I just picked up a bottle within the last month or two.  I suppose I should open it soon since I know where to pick up another bottle.  The store manager tells me he prefers it to B519.  It seems like there have been more bottles available the last few batches.

Really really enjoy the 919. Enough to put away a couple of backups. It was a winner from the first pour. Brown sugar up front with a solid oaky backbone. Does not drink to the stated proof.

C919 is excellent but I liked B519 almost as much.  I did a SBS with C919 and A119 and A119 had more complexity.  So, for me,  A119>C919>or=B519.  Verdict; 2019 was a very good year for ECBP in terms of quality and increased availability.  Looking forward to trying A120 but it hasn't arrived here in Calif.

OK, so my anal retentiveness didn't like the odd spacing between release 16 and 17 (which appears to be an artifact of copying a table?) so I fixed it. Or tried to since as best I can tell there is no tab function...

The list needs updated. And the label now says Barrel Proof, in place of Small Batch.

The picture i posted, of B520, is the second batch this year. That is why I said the list needs updated.

That is mostly my experience as well, but A120 is pretty darn good.  I still need to do a SBS with Batch 12.

Cracked opened an ECBP B520 this past weekend and was not a fan of it....I usually really enjoy ECBP but this batch, or at least this bottle, had a great nose but a bitter and metallic finish that thankfully was short lived.

Must be from the new label...

There is more than just a new label for ECBP.  It is also now shipped in a 6 pack case instead of a 3 pack case. Perhaps this is a further indication of increasing production levels.

Fred Minnick panned it in a recent review as well...

I happened to visit a store that was opening a box of A120, picked up 2 for $55 each. I was rather surprised how little wood I detected. It's tasty, easy sipping at proof, but not complex.  Maybe it will evolve over time.

I sure hope so.  My local liquor manager told me a few weeks ago that he only had one ECBP A120 left and I should buy it if I wanted it. He didn't know if they would get any more.  They had a multi-bottle sale starting the next day so I chanced it hoping I could get it at 30% off.  He was right.  The bottle was gone when I went back.

I know the days they get deliveries and they didn't get any the following week.  Actually, they haven't received any standard EC in several weeks.  Still no standard EC this week, but I saw one bottle of ECBP A120 in the case the day after they get deliveries. Normally, he keeps it in the back but this was his day off.  I ended up buying it and another bottle of bourbon plus four cheap bottles of wine for cooking.  With a 15% discount, my cost was $53.54.  I will take that any day.

Even at the shelf price of $62.99, this is one of the best bargains in bourbon.  A120 is one of my favorite batches over the past few years.
