I got a bottle of Dickel Rye this morning, and just had a short pour after lunch.

I have to say, I am definitely a fan of rye.

The wife and I took a day trip to Louisville today, so we stopped by the Seelbach Hotel Bar so I could sample the Rathskeller Rye. All I can say is, "Wow!" Glad I got to try it, very dark, brooding, awesome rye. I will have to go back again very soon, definately worth the trip!

Saz18. Down to the last couple pours so I'm on a mission to finish it off and clear a little shelf space.

On Easter, my brother in law provided my first Whistle Pig. Very easy mouth for such a high proof. I definitely picked up (the expected) Canadian notes in this rye. Overall, a very enjoyable pour.

High West 21 (bought today with Binny's coupon)

then VWFRR

then Rathskeller

mmmm

That's cool that they let you use the coupon on the HW, it says on the coupon no specialty whiskeys and they usually keep the 21 in the special room

Having a pour of Baby Saz while waiting for the game to start. Pretty good stuff!

Mixing & Rocks- Rittenhouse 100, which is fortunately getting much easier to find on an ongoing basis.

Sippin'- Leopold Bros. Maryland Rye. Trying to pace out my annual allotment.

Two days and no rye, break out them bottles boys...

Starting with some Baby Saz, eyeing the Hirsch 22yr hard for later though

Old Overholt. I heard, it is one of the oldest. Goes super with the classic cocktails.

I had a little rye tasting with my groomsmen. In addition to their thank you gifts (Saz18, 2011 THH, Rendezvous), we tasted the following:

VWFRR

Saz 18

Hirsch 25

Classic Cask 22

Classic Cask was the highlight. Really delicious, complex, and unique.
