MyOldKyDram
All those bottles and not one post by him here asking how much they were worth. Guess it was trippin more than flippin on his mind. *shakeshead*
Trey Manthey
Let's assume the whiskey was delicious, and the pilferer enjoyed it to its fullest. I'm actually glad that it ended up being enjoyed by someone rather than in a collector's untouchable cabinet, or as it lies now, shut under the staircase where it will remain "for a very long time." LostBottle
Are they really trying to value this whiskey at ~ $2K/bottle? Edited March 23, 2013 by LostBottle
squire
Of course his defense is he was told to help himself and no one limited that to the kitchen.
squire
Interesting that a wealthy industrialist chose Rye over Bourbon.

Shuboy
According to the news report, the caretaker was caught when his DNA was found in the saliva he left on three of the bottles. He really should have wiped the bottles down after he finished them....

squire
Since there was an auction house appraisal presumably some of this will find it's way onto the market.
mosugoji64
Since there was an auction house appraisal presumably some of this will find it's way onto the market.I hope they only had it appraised in order to press charges and assess damage. One of the mansion employees in a news story said the whiskey will remain at the mansion. Let's hope that's the case and that it's treated as a piece of the family history. jtexaslonestar
and that it's treated as a piece of the family history. As in the alleged traditional sense of serving everyone who visits a shot at the door?
squire
There is no family history involved cause they sold the place and if they cared about the whisky it wouldn't have still been there.
