Enjoying SB blend with football today. Plan on moving on to rye tonight.

I am thinking about hitting a rye next. What are you thinking about? If I got it, I might just join you. :toast:

I believe you have the WFE 4 yr rye... I think I'll have a couple of fingers with just a few drops of water added. :toast:

Drinking a little Jeffersons VSB with eggnog. Not bad at all and a good way to finish off a bottle.

Started off with BHM. Followed up with GTS. Then a small flight of three different ETL barrel picks. Not a bad night if I say so myself.

Having a pour of Dant 2/16 now. The nose is great, the mouthfeel is great, and rich with flavors!

Edit: moving on to some OFBB13 now.

Four Roses Single Barrel selected by Imperial in Portland. Not sure of the yeast/recipe, but aged 9 years and absolutely wonderful.

ETL. Better every time I have it.

By the time you reach 320 posts (10 X current number--though probably much sooner than that) you're really going to love it.

Cracked open a handle of Old Heaven Hill 8 year old (86 proof) I bought over the summer when doing some lower shelf exploration. Initial reaction is a good basic bourbon that drinks well enough straight (caramel, vanilla, sweet mild spice from nose-to-palate). Not as sweet as EW Black or as refined as EWSB, but definitely in that family.

The only off note is a slightly bitter edge on the finish - closest I can describe it is bitterness/astringency you might get in a wine with under-ripe/underdeveloped tannins. The same note is much more dominant in the HH Black Label 10yr, like this bourbon was headed into that territory but was bottled before it rounded that bend. Not to the point of being unpleasant though and certainly would work as a mixer.

At $16 for a 1.75L though, I'm happy ...:yum:

Welcome to the club in finding this. Now keep quiet about it and don't go spoiling it!!

We don't want the word to get out too much on it.
