Ended up putting in some extra hours at the office today. Rewarded myself by picking up two bottles of a 4R Private Selection OESQ. It's good. Real good.

Sure you can drink from plastic - it says "Built In Pourer" right on the bottle!

Or just rip that pourer thingy off and outta the way.

HHSS x 2, OBSV 11 yr, maker's cask strength. Unfortunately HHSS has been lying on its side in the package and leaked a drop. Doing a side by side of SB blend w12/owa, hhss, and dughdon reserve cognac. post-10688-14489821489514_thumb.jpg

Looks like the same cap is used again for the HHSS. No biggie and this way you're going to drink it right away. :)

The cap may strip then become a little hard to unscrew.

Same cap, but no wax this time at least. I've found OFS caps are a nice fit on the HHSS bottles (and a good excuse for me to finish an OFS!)

Were there any problems with the caps from last batch?

What you saw was the only issue. Very minor and no big deal.

More importantly what you think about it and how does it compare to the SB blend for you.

Cheers

SAOS 10yr (first time I've seen it in MA) and an OWA to replace an outgoing Larceny.

OWA is still uncommon to find around Boston.

You need to take a trip to Julio's.

Haha, well, yes, always, but even though Julio's is only about 45 minutes from where I live, I don't get out that way often enough.

I hate it when they have five or six awesome-looking store selections and I only have budget for one.

Nice! I'd love to get my hands on one of those. I think it might be another week before it hits here.

I'm also waiting for my local shop to get act 2.2 in and then I'll do a sbs to see if I can taste a difference between the batches.

My guy came through and got my hands on '14 GTS and ER17.

Was also fortunate enough to be offered '12 GTS AND THH at retail

Now just need the Royals to pull off a miracle
