A nice pour of GBS OESO hitting all the right notes before dinner last night, then after dinner the flavour was masked even after a couple waters before returning to the 4R. Later it came back to life and I fully enjoyed the last of the pour as I had the beginning.

4RSB last night. I enjoyed the last 1/3 of the bottle much more than the first 2/3.

Last night was all about Turkey. WTKS and WTRB while enjoying 60 degree(??) weather in July in KC.... it was gorgeous.

Last night was my first pour of Stagg Jr. It was certainly hot and am thinking of cutting my next pour with some BT.

Got home from work, and I'm having a nice pour of ETL to finish this part of the day.

Cheers! Joe

OBSF. While it is good, it seems the F yeast is my least favorite. I've had both the OESF and OBSF in the past few months and have not been nearly as impressed with them as I was with the K and Q yeast recipes.

A few new Indy FR picks - an OESK and OESF from Ray at Rural Inn. Very tame, yet packing some great, complex flavor. Great picks as always.

4R kind of night. PS OESQ from perfect pour and store select regular single barrel from warehouse ME, 8 year 9 months. Both fantastic.

Went out and about Las Vegas style. Met for some cocktails at a suite at MGM. Makers 46 was present and I brought a BT Single Oak for some enthusiasts that had not run across any, bottle 114 for those that follow such.

Dinner was at Craft Steak, I will only say that the food was a disappointment. The bourbon list however was given a swell workout. Stagg Jr, WTRB, and some Willet Pot Stilled all made the way to our table. Needless to say, I did not do the driving home that evening.

On to a first pour of a Booker's Batch 2014-07 7yr 7mo 13 days 128.9 proof. Wow, now I see why all the love for Booker's. Really complex and way different than that W12I started with, yet real smooth and not much burn for something nearly 130 proof. I should have bought every bottle they had at $36 down there as while I really enjoy this I don't think I like it enough to fork over the $60 it costs up here.

Lareceny is next up.... When these 4 handles are gone it will be time for another trip to IN. This is fast becoming my favorite. I guess it is time for a SbS with BT to see which I really prefer.

Tonight I'm staring to crank through the last few pours of a bottle of Old Heaven Hill 8. Making some room on the bar. Should kill it off this weekend.

Stagg Jr batch 1....... tasty, a bit hot but can be forgiven it's proof. Booker's might be leading it, I smell a SbS coming coming up

Got my car back from its 65,000 mile service today. I opened the trunk to put in some anti-plastic shopping bags and, WHOA!!, said out loud, "Where'd this handle of Weller SR come from?" It may be 90 proof, but when the temp outside is over 90, it cannot help but hit the spot. Which is what it is doing. RIGHT NOW! Next question - Where I gonna put it in the house? That handle is BIG!!

Pasting in this Harry quote from the just closed Spring thread because it's too good and is in danger of not being seen. It's vintage Harry as pertains to his legendary trunk which is now apparently capable of producing handles at the auto garage.

Jefferson small batch at a business dinner last night. Was unimpressed and regretted not going with Bookers.

Lately I have been putting a lot of hurt on a bottle of Binny's 9yr Willett barrel 7199, 123.2 Proof. I think it came out last winter or fall. Now after a couple months open it really shines. Nice tradition bourbon, rich, chocolate, drinks a lot older than 9yrs with a lot of barrel influence.
