Last night I started with a pour of Stagg Jr, proofed down to 100 (thanks to the handy proof calculator on SB.com). Still not getting there for me. It's still very astringent. Finished up with a pour of OGD114 while I watched the "debate".

Starting my 40th birthday week with a pour of WhistlePig 15. All pours this week will be made with a heavy hand.

Got home from taking my daughter to soccer practice at 9:45 and couldn't decide on anything, so I opened a 375 of MM I'd been gifted.  Not too bad while I watch and see if the Panthers can avoid losing their 4th game of the season.

OGD 114 again tonight in the hotel this week for work. Making this awful MNF game semi watchable

You found DN1843 'very good'?   You sir, are easily pleased... a commendable and worthy characteristic to have, especially in today's market for Bourbon.

I find DN1843 to be a bit underwhelming; but very useful to mingle with those Bourbons I've found too woody.    It seems to blend well with everything I've tried it on, and has yielded nice results most of the time.

Ooooh.  Thanks, Rich.  My wife bought me a DN because I didn't have one.  Now I know what to do with the rest of it.

The apple brandy I opened didn't hit the spot, so I switched over to bourbon. This Charter 101 store pick is resetting my palate with its corny sweetness. May go to rum for dessert.

Revisiting 4RSmB for the first time in a long time. Forgot how good of a value this is. I always drink these extremely fast which is why I haven't opened one in a while.

Following with some KC 9yr age stated.

A new one for me last night. Just opened my CEHT SmB. Very nice! Sweet and spicy, though I found that it really benefits from a small splash.

I had another pour of a store barrel purchase KC Single Barrel last night. I've had KC many times BUT this is one very special bottling. Barrel was filled an enter into warehouse L Dec 1st 2004 and recently bottled in late Aug 2016 at nearly 12 yrs. Proofed at 129.1.

I had my wife do a blind taste test for me and a friend. The KCSingleB against ECBP, Stagg Jr (130) and Belle Meade SB 9yr at 117.

On both cards the KCSB was a runaway best. Even though I knew what 4 bottles were picked, and since I have become a big fan of the Belle Meade recently, I had the order all wrong. In fact blind I only got Stagg correct. :)

At that point we had to run back to the store and bunker up immediately. Retail is $36 for a 750.

If you're in the area PM me and I'll give up the location.

Day two of Birthday week has me drinking a large pour of Elijah Craig 18. Very nice pour.

Happy birthday Tanger.  I had some EC18 last night as well.  Nice stuff, especially if you are in the mood for a woody bourbon.

Celebrating my 4 year anniversary with the lovely Mrs Ravensfire. Started with a Four Roses OESK with dinner and now an 11yr WFE. And that's the last post of the evening for me! [emoji6]

Thanks! Night #3 is a EHT Barrel Proof. Beautiful pour. Two more nights to go.

Buddy sent me a text saying he was parched. I thought about it a bit and decided that I too was a bit parched and I could offer a remedy.

We each got one last pour out of a bottle of ETL.

Contentment ensued.

Reseeded the front lawn today, worked up quite the thirst.  NHL season opener was reason enough to have a few pours.

First up was my new acquisition, OWA107.  Wow, never had it before.  So smooth.  Nose on it reminded me of cream soda.

Needless to say, I was very impressed.

Moving on to pour #2, FR PS OESK, and the 3rd period of the Blues and Blackhawks.  It has been a good night.

Converted a few co-workers into the Old Fitz BIB fan boy club.  So much so, that there's another 750 going off into the bin...

I'm about halfway through a bottle of FRSB OBSV 100 proof private selection and am really enjoying it. I like this more than the last two Four Roses barrel proof private selections I've had
