weller_tex
While on a recent business trip I purchased a bottle of Glenlivet 12, because that was the only single malt available (at Wal-Mart) in the small town I was in. It had been about 5 years since I had Glenlivet 12 and I was pleasantly reminded of how good it is, epecially for $35! It was refreshing, with tart apples, vanilla, honey, yet it wasn't too sweet. Maybe even a bit drying on the finish (which I like). I sure wish they would release this at 100 proof,, Every once in a while it is good to remember that entry level can still be very good.. dcbt
Oh man. I had a bottle of this open on my bar for probably close to 10 years and recently decided I had to get rid of it once and for all. The only way I could do so was diluted with so much water it barely registered on my palate.
smokinjoe
I went through a bottle not long ago. An easy entry level, get-to-know-scotch kind of bottle. $35 sounds high for it, from what I remember, though. If comparing to bourbon, I would place it in the Jim Beam White, OldForester 86, Wild Turkey 81, realm. Totally inoffensive mostly, and bordering on darn nice on some nights. gusto16
I thought they were phasing this out to be replaced by the NAS Founders Reserve in some markets. (?)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro It was already phased out in some markets, but they left the 12 year old alone in the U.S.
