FasterHorses
A friend of mine informed me that her inlaws just gave her and her husband their old bourbon/whiskey. I asked if there was anything good and as luck would have it there wasn't even though they live in KY. The only unopened bottles are some 1980's Jim Beam and 1980's Ten High. She says we should try them but I said the Beam might be something she would want to leave unopened. I'm not too excited about the Ten High but the Beam might be cool to taste. Is there any value here?
Vosgar
Value? Not really but you might be surprised by the Ten High Ten
mosugoji64
The value is in the tasting. Beam from the '80s is pretty tasty and quite a bit different from what it is now. I haven't had the pleasure of tasting old Ten High but I understand it was good and certainly can't be worse than the blend that's sold now. kevinbrink
I would be pretty excited to try both of those!
FasterHorses
I am now greatly anticipating both pours. Thanks. I'll report if its life changing.
smokinjoe
By the way, does the Beam carry an age statement? And, what is the proof?
FasterHorses
It is 1982 according to tax strip. It is 4 years old and 80 proof. Price tag says $4.99. Twist off cap stull intact. Tax strip intact.
