A nice group from Binny's… I'm hoping the Adelphi Clynelish 17 (56.9% ABV) is crazy complex. If my meeting today wraps up in time, I'll hit the South Loop store in an attempt to fill my flight bag quota. The last time I was in town I picked up a 200mL version of the tasty FAT DRAM Talisker 6-- so I was pleased to see a 1L version.

Very nice! I'm a big fan of that Mortlach 15, too.

My recollection is that it is going away now that Diageo is going to be releasing OB Mortlach botllings so if you like it you might want to bunker some.

Ah thanks, good to know. Thankfully there is no shortage of it these days.

A super dusty 2004 bottling of Longrow 14 from a super dusty Chicago LS…

The most interesting thing about the dusty Longrow was this note I found inside the secondary carton-- touting the yet unnamed Kilkerran offerings and the chance to get in on the first-ever bottlings…

Well the proprietor of the store where I purchased these was quite happy to see them leave the shelves, and I was happy to be the one to do it.

A relative visited the Aberfeldy distillery recently where these were also on sale and in a moment of weakness I accepted the offer to pick one up.... ridiculously priced but I just couldn't say no...

That Bunna looks very sexy.

What age is the rye? I can see batch 2. I love the 6yr batch 3 in particular.

The Bunna is 13 yr Marsala cask, the Redemption is a 7 yr, I'm quite familiar with the rye and happy to have a backup for the bunker, this one was pretty well priced for here ($65) the Bunna was admittedly an uninformed impulse purchase, hard to imagine it won't be enjoyable.

Giving the SMWS a try with their coolie tasting kit. I'm not a big fan of their naming/tasting note conventions-- but if the juice pans out, I can learn to live with it.

I think you had it with us at Whiskyfest right? Either way I think you are in for a treat. I certainly enjoyed it!

Good pick ups. I had a Signatory 1997 Dailuaine that K&L selected in 2013 or 2014 and it was excellent, so hopefully that's of the same caliber.

I always look for the fruity notes on the front of those Old Particular grain whiskys - sherbet and apple pie are good signs. If it only talks about vanilla and almonds then it will likely underwhelm me.

I don't think I had it in Chicago, but based on the standard Hedonism and the Quindecimus-- combined with the 53.3% ABV, I'm sure I'll be into it.

The color on the Cameronbridge is darker than the 20yo Dailuaine, which gives me hopes that the casks had some life left in them. I'll find out tomorrow as soon as I make it back home. Given where I bought it, I'm sure it'll at least be unusual.

I almost picked up that Dailuaine on price alone, looking forward to your thoughts on it.

Found this 80's bottle of Paddy along with this army of Ardbeg minis for $3 a pop. Not a bad day on the hunt.

Picked up a Loch Lomond 12yr; hadn't ever seen it in Georgia, and only tried Loch Lomond single malt once in Scotland (amongst many others, but remember thinking it wasn't bad).  $35 for a 12 yr 46% NCF seemed like a risk worth taking.  Now just have to wait until the weekend to try it!

I like it, have gone through a couple bottles in the last few months and went to the only store around that seems to have it to reload and the shelf was empty, I was assured that the shelf will be full on Tuesday.

Took a bit of walking around New York today-- but the weather was certainly nice. Apparently both the HP The Light and Longrow Red just landed this morning. A little heavy on the wine cask matured juice-- maybe tomorrow will bring some balance to the mix.
