Decided to have a pour since I noticed above that it is National Scotch Day!

Damn. Still beating myself up for not grabbing one from MoM while I could.

That is one fine dram.  Bought a bottle myself and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bruichladdich from weird wine casks is always welcome in my house, but now I'm a bit concerned this will trigger the smoke alarm...

Had fun comparing these two grain whiskys last night. Both 25yo Old Particular casks selected by K&L, I purchased the Cambus last year and my friend bought the Cameronbridge recently.

The Cameronbridge is solid and has some nice spice and apple/pear notes. The Cambus, however, is bold with tropical fruit notes that put it a tier above the Cameronbridge. I think I’ve posted notes on this cask of Cambus here before but every time I drink it I’m surprised by how good it is.

The plastic cup didn't do it justice-- but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. A truly outstanding blend-- even at 40%.

One of the best investments in making sure I always had a proper nightcap when I was on vacation was picking up a couple of boxes of Ardbeg Minis.

Tamdhu Batch Strenght, batch 2. This got consistently top scores everywhere, but I am not liking my bottle at all after revisiting it many times over the past year. There is excellent sherry-heavy whisky in there... and then there is that huge artificial vanilla/car air freshener nose and taste that give me nausea.

^^^I am quite literally eating a jar of hot dill pickles to calm down my stomach. Tamdhu isn't working for me.

Tamdhu's  attempt to rebrand as a more premium product has worked incredibly well for them it seems. Tahmdu 10 was one of those budget bottles I would pick up on occasion once upon a time, my recollection is it was sub $30 at the time, since the re-brand I have not once been tempted to buy a bottle of the 10 but the Batch Strength has caught my eye, thanks for the notes good reminder to try before buying.

Having some CR Noble Collection tonight.

Not bad but I don’t know if I’ll buy another bottle.

I'm actually digging it quite a bit, my bottle and tube were relabeled though:

The Cornerstone Blend, the first in the series, is actually pretty good. I’ve also got a bottle of the Wine Barrel Finish, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll probably be a sucker for this new 13 year old if I find it at a reasonable price.

Crazy how this stuff just follows me home. Luckily I got an early "Bourbon" version without the THIS IS NOT BOURBON WHISKEY decal.

All good, but nothing can top the pre-blended cask strength components they poured at TOTC last year.

Gotta say, despite what seems to be popular opinion, I like these very much. Far from boring and the word that comes to mind is raunchy.
