For once, Mrs. Joe and I picked the right day and time to do our shopping. She headed over to the grocery store, while I headed to the liquor store. ^_^ I waved to the store manager as I walked in, then headed to the bourbon aisle. Was just looking, but when I saw they got EW BIB back in, I had to grab one. I headed back up to the counter with a smile on my face. When it was my turn to check out, there sat a bottle of WA for me too. Every once in a while.  :) Good fortune smiled on me twice in one week. I'm screwed for the rest of the year.

Had asked one of my contacts to keep an eye out for W12 while I was out of town.  He doesnt get many interesting bottles in his store, but corporate has the buying power of 27 stores, and gets some of everything.  They must have had a W12 stashed in the office somewhere, as I was greeted today with news that he got one for me.  "It's a 1.75, if that's OK..."   I dont have a problem with that!  It was a little more than usual ($70 vs usual $55 for a handle), but I can pay an extra $15 for them to drive across town for me.

Also found another Old Fitz 9 yr today.  Bought it for a Christmas gift.  $89.

Today was a good day!!! Found a PHC 12 (bought) and a Old Fitz 9 (left) in a small bottle shop I've never been to. Convinced the owner (awesome guy) to throw in a EC SmB mock up display bottle for FREE!IMG_20181015_124916066_HDR.jpeg

A local grocery chain held one of their 30% off sales recently.

I picked up: MM 1.75L, WT 101 x 3, 4R 80 proof x 2.  All for super cheap prices.  I feel like I beat the casino.

I am in South Carolina right now and have seen the EW white label everywhere. Even handles. Really good stuff. Weller 107 is fabulous. Good day.

Picked up a bottle of HM 10 y.o. SiB for my BIL and a bottle of WT Honey to use to make Lawrenceburg Lemonade at tailgate parties.

Had a nice haul today.  The WTRB is a replacement for a 116.8 proof bottle that I am nearly through; very tasty stuff!  The Joseph Magnus is a new one for me.  I have been fascinated by the posts on here by Nancy Fraley (WhiskeyBlender) who is heavily involved with the creation of this one, and I'm looking forward to cracking this one soon.  The Amrut Fusion (obviously not a bourbon) is one that I have been curious about for some time.  My first Indian whisky!

I was gifted a liter of KC for boss’s day. I can’t believe they didn’t hunt an AS bottle down though. But seriously I might let them go to the bathroom on company time tomorrow.

WTF you get bourbon? All I ever is cheesy balloons at my desk and overpriced cupcakes.

I was lamenting to the guy behind the counter about how I miss age statements and he asks if I would be interested in a 10 year Bourbon. I have been wanting a bottle of this for two years and get one on a fluke. This one’s delicious by the way.

The Magnus Line has been solid, I am a huge fan of the Murry Hill Club, have batches 4 and 5.  Great drink neat after a good meal!

GeeTen can give you the 411 on that barrel. He’s had four of the bottles.

So today was a great but expensive day on the bourbon hunt for me. Started the day scoring a case of ECBP C918 for a fellow SBer while getting a VW Lot B for myself. After that, made a stop at Julio's Liquors and did some damage. I was lucky enough to get 2 different barrel picks WTRR. 2 more bottles of their EC 12 SB pick. The last bottle of their Weller 107 micro batch. To top it all off, I got bottle of their new Maker's Mark PS Single Barrel that is amazing and I am not a Maker's fan. Happy that I have plenty of great bourbon to help get me thru the long winter months coming up. Cheers!
